It is with profound sadness that the Collegeville community and all who knew her mourn the passing of Lauren Alexis Gilbert, age 42, who peacefully passed away at her home on Friday, March 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Lauren’s life was marked by remarkable dedication, creativity, and love for her family, community, and the many lives she touched throughout her journey.
Born on April 27, 1983, in Voorhees, New Jersey, Lauren was the daughter of Laraine (Brewin) Sindoni and the late George W. Stott Jr. A longtime resident of Marlton, NJ, she moved to Collegeville in December 2018, where she became a devoted member of St. Eleanor’s Catholic Church, having previously been a parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Marlton. A talented musician, Lauren shared her love for music both in her church and as a member of her band, “Ginger on the Roxx,” inspiring joy and connection through her performances.
Lauren earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Salisbury University and a Master’s Degree from Wilmington University. She began her career as a middle school math teacher in Cecil County Public Schools and the Brandywine School District, where she also served as District Math Coordinator. Her expertise later led her to national roles, including as an Education Consultant for Big Ideas Learning, before transitioning to the corporate world as Vice President of Operations for 100+ and Connect America.
In April 2025, Lauren was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of colon cancer. Throughout her battle, she shared her journey publicly to raise awareness and encourage early detection. She was also a talented author, writing books for children inspired by her love for her own children, including Ella and Her NeuroSparkly Brain, Lumi the Lion and the Jungleball Giants, and Be Still Time, a heartfelt guide explaining cancer to children.
Lauren’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife to Daniel M. Gilbert and loving mother to Ella and Austin Gilbert. She cherished family trips to Disney World and the countless moments of love and laughter shared with those closest to her.
Lauren is survived by her husband Daniel, children Ella and Austin, her mother Laraine Sindoni, brother AJ (Kaitlin) Sindoni, sisters Emily and Kayla, grandparents Anthony and Patricia Sindoni, and her in-laws Michael and Josephine Gilbert, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Eleanor’s RC Church in Collegeville, with visitation on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning prior to Mass. Interment will take place at Schwenksville Cemetery.
