It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lewis William McGonigle, affectionately known to many as Lewy, on 12th March 2026 in Las Vegas. His unexpected loss has left a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Lewis was the much-loved son of William and Karen, whose pride and love for him were immeasurable. He was also a devoted and caring brother to Lucy and her partner Niall, and the cherished brother of the late Emma, whom he now joins in eternal rest. Lewis grew up in Lilac Avenue, Limavady, where he was well known and warmly regarded within the local community.
Those who knew Lewis will remember him for his kind heart, warm spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him. He had a natural ability to connect with people, leaving a lasting impression through his friendliness, loyalty, and sense of humour. Whether among family, friends, or acquaintances, Lewis was someone whose presence brightened a room and whose character reflected genuine kindness and compassion.
For his family, Lewis was not only a beloved son and brother but also a constant source of love, laughter, and support. The memories shared with him will be treasured forever and will remain a lasting reminder of the special person he was.
At this deeply difficult time, the family has kindly requested that the home remain strictly private, welcoming only close family and friends. This privacy will allow them the space to grieve and reflect together as they come to terms with their sudden loss.
