It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tom Myat Thu, also known as Tun Myat Thu, who departed peacefully at 1:03 a.m. on 16 March 2026 at Mt. Druitt’s Palliative Care in Sydney, New South Wales. Surrounded by care and compassion in his final moments, Tom’s passing marks the loss of a deeply loved husband, father, and friend.
Tom was the beloved husband of Ma Shwe Sin Win, with whom he shared a life built on love, respect, and unwavering support. Their partnership was one defined by devotion and mutual care, forming the foundation of a close and cherished family.
He was also a proud and devoted father to Brice and Josie Thu. Tom’s greatest joy came from his children, and he embraced fatherhood with patience, warmth, and deep affection. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family and to guide his children with kindness, wisdom, and encouragement. The love he showed them will remain a lasting influence throughout their lives.
Those who knew Tom remember him as a gentle and thoughtful person whose quiet strength and generous spirit left a lasting impression. He valued family, friendship, and community, and he carried himself with humility and dignity. His presence brought comfort to many, and his kindness will not be forgotten.
